Usability refers to how well users can learn and use a portal, website or software to achieve their goals and how satisfied they are with the process of using it.
Joseph Dumas and Janice Redish has stated that usability concept is that people who use the product can do so quickly and easily to accomplish their tasks.
Usability should also focus on cost-effectiveness, usefulness, effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction.
ISO9241-11 defines Usability as the extent to which a product can be used by specified users to achieve specified goals with effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction in a specified context of user.
Usability is very important for web design and development.
